Grand Canyon Air & Hiking Tour
7 hours |
$599 per person |
Upon landing, your guide will take you in one of Westwind Air Service’s private vans for a trip inside the park where you will have the opportunity to view the Grand Canyon from the ground. You and your Wilderness First Response Certified (WFR) guide from Arizona Outback Adventures will be dropped off directly at the trail head to begin your hike into the Grand Canyon.
Begin your guided hike with a series of switch backs before arriving at Ooo-Ahh Point. At this aptly named lookout point, the views open up to the panorama of the Grand Canyon in all directions.
Next, you will continue on to a picnic area at Cedar Ridge, dropping almost 1,200 feet in elevation and through more than 40 million years of geological history. This scenic trail is unique to the Grand Canyon in that it traverses along a ridge line instead of descending a side canyon, allowing for unobstructed views and excellent photo opportunities. As you descend through the layers of rock strata, your guide will provide information on the Grand Canyon’s history, ecosystems, and geology. After lunch and time to explore Cedar Ridge, you will begin your ascent to the rim to visit the Yaki Point overlook.

Just outside the Skywalk you will experience the Hualapai Indian Culture through Native American Performances and an Indian Village, ancient dwellings constructed in the traditional methods by local tribes. The next stop on the tour will be Guano Point. This location offers one of the most scenic places to enjoy lunch (provided with the tour) at an outdoor eating area on a plateau surrounded on three sides by the magnificent Grand Canyon. After your lunch, enjoy a leisurely hike along a trail that extends out into the Canyon and spectacular views.
The highlight of most visitors’ trip to the West Rim is the Helicopter ride to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
